Long Time, No Read?

{ Monday, March 29, 2010 }
Hello everyone!
If it isn't obviously enough, I've been a complete slacker when it comes to my blog recently. Ever since I returned home from my spring break trip, I just haven't been the same. I'm in summer mode, five measly weeks too soon. Hopefully the final stretch of this semester will go by quickly!

To keep things sweet and simple, here are my most thoughtful life updates in list form:
- My new oxfords are outrageous, are they not? Purchased today at 'le thrift store, for $4.
- I've now started using Mane 'n Tail shampoo, it makes me feel like a pony.
- I'm writing my huge, intimidating research paper for English on the importance of reading. I'm loving it.
- I'm going to see Young The Giant open up for Minus The Bear on May 10th! Cannot wait.
- My heart's been all over the place lately, no regrets.
- I've finally reached 50 readers on here! Thank you so much :)
- I'm ready now, more than ever, to transfer schools in the fall.
- I'm excited to watch Jeopardy tonight. What has my world come to?
- I now know why Panama City Beach is the ideal Spring Break destination- it's full of chaos and hilarity.
I hope all of you have a wonderful week, I cannot wait to be back blogging in full swing!

Soak Up The Sun

{ Monday, March 8, 2010 }
What an incredibly beautiful day it was! Although I left my house at 6:45 a.m with a thin layer of ice clinging to my windshield, by the time I got out of class around lunch time I was driving with the windows fully rolled down, my favorite feeling in the world. I feel like spring has finally decided to make its full appearance in Georgia today, and I couldn't be happier. What's even better is one more school day until the official start of my Spring Break! I cannot wait to lie on the beach and genuinely unwind for the first time since January. Although Panama City Beach isn't known for cute boutiques, but tattoo parlors (hah), I'll still be on the look out for interesting souvenirs.
On Saturday I went to pick up my re-sized ring, which fits wonderfully, coming in at a size of 4.5. Who knew someone could have such small fingers? Anyway, the ring was my grandmother's and I'm very grateful that it was passed along to me. I feel like it suits my taste in jewelry to a t.
Although I'm not much of a bragger, I have to gloat about my new bag. It was such a steal! I picked it up from Charming Charlie for a mere $10 over the weekend, when it was originally priced at $50. Basically, it was like Christmas all over again. I love finding great deals, especially when it comes to great accessories. It has a slight Marc Jacobs feel to it, although I don't think it is an exact replica of any specific "It Bag."
I'm desperately trying to get in touch with my advisor for the fall, but no luck so far! I can't believe class registration is on the 15th, time flies. I'm off to a math exam, wish me luck! And while you're at it, tell me about your day :)

The Ripe 'Ol Age of 19...

{ Friday, March 5, 2010 }
I know, I'm double-posting today. What an accomplishment! I'm really trying to make up for my lack of updates as of late, so bear with me.
My 19th birthday was on Wednesday! Turning 19 really didn't seem or feel like that much of a huge deal to me, honestly. Maybe when I turn 20 I'll finally have something to celebrate? My family took me out to a low-key dinner with one of my best friends, where we greedily devoured as much sushi and seafood as our stomachs could possibly hold. All in all, a wonderful birthday! I had no clue what to tell my friends to get me, but I was so happy with all of my sweet gifts. My friend Carrie knows exactly how I want to decorate my dorm next year, and bought me the cutest owl decoration I've ever seen! I plan to place it on my desk next year, in hopes of attaining its wisdom. Maybe it'll work, hm? My younger sister's boyfriend brought me a box of my favorite tea, which was so unexpectedly sweet of him. I'm enjoying a cup of it as I type, and it's great! Leighton ended up taking me out for dinner last night, and bought me a Bath & Body Works gift set. I love how the sales people in there can always spot the clueless boyfriend and talk them into buying anything, hah! However, I'm very pleased with my pretty smelling Twilight Woods body products :)

I'm determined to let the last year of my teens an amazing and memorable one. I know people always say things like that, but I mean it! I have so much to look forward to this year, and I'm certainly going to make the most of it.
In other news, I'm terribly mad at myself at the moment. CollegePublisher.com had an Interface conference call with Liz Lee of MTV's My Life As Liz yesterday afternoon, and I missed it! Although she is incredibly precocious and "indie," it would've made for a great Q&A for the blog! Oh well, better luck next time I suppose. I'm off to get some midday reading in before I'm off to work tonight. I hope everyone is having a good Friday!

"Dormain" Decisions...

{ }
As some of you may or may not know, I've been spending my year as a college Freshman living at home. Why, might you ask? Partly as a way to save money (room and boards costs are through the roof!) and largely because my mother was not ready to let her little, defenseless firstborn live on her own. Sure, I've missed out on a few aspects of "the college experience" and haven't had the joy of experiencing a drunken, pointless keg party, but I've actually enjoyed my additional year living with my family and sleeping in my own comfy, broken-in bed. However, I'm off to the beautiful Georgia College & State University this fall! Needless to say, I'm over-the-moon excited that I'll finally be living at my dream school. The campus of my home state's top-ranking liberal arts school is absolutely beautiful, and in five little months I'll be trekking across the campus to classes.

Being the planner I am, I've already brainstormed a plethora of dorm decorating ideas. I've decided on an earthy theme, with subdued tones of beige, sage, cream, and black. Nearly every one of the girls in my graduating class decorated their room in black toile and preppy pink- so overdone!
Here are a few cute dorms below that I've found to be very inspiring!

I find out who my roommate is on the 15th, and I'm extremely excited and nervous! All I can hope for is someone who likes good music, enjoys art and fashion, and has a good set of moral standards. Too much to ask? I think not :) Let's cross our fingers!
